Competency qualification by AIAG in the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook verifies an individual's competency in failure mode and effects analysis techniques.  This exam, with a focus on PFMEA (as defined in the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook Chapter 3), confirms the individual's ability to apply and communicate the PFMEA methodology and, as a result, successfully support the identification and management of risks when using a PFMEA.

Competency qualification by AIAG in FMEA 4th Edition verifies an individual's competency in failure mode and effects analysis techniques as defined in AIAG's FMEA 4th Edition reference manual. The individual is able to apply and communicate the methodology and, as a result, successfully support the identification and management or risks.

Competency qualification by AIAG in MSA verifies an individual's competency in measurement systems analysis techniques as defined in AIAG's MSA reference manual. The individual is able to analyze measurement systems, explain them, and as a result, can successfully support the selection and management of measurement systems.

Certification by AIAG in SPC confirms an individual's proficiency in statistical process control techniques as defined in the SPC reference manual. The individual is able to apply and communicate them, and as a result, can successfully support the monitoring and improvement of manufacturing processes.

The one-day VDA 6.3 process auditor examination consists of an oral exam.
