ESG - Environmental, Social & Governance

Guided by our vision for the automotive industry to be an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) leader, and through our mission to align with ESG core values as stated in the Automotive Guiding Principles, and cascaded throughout the industry and its supply chain, the steering committee and its work groups will:

  • Proactively identify/prioritize issues, needs and trends
  • Engage with other peer organizations to align activities, solutions, and objectives
  • Promote and provide direction and alignment with the ESG Core Values

Through the formation of volunteer groups, we will identify priority topics, setting annual goals, objectives with metrics to be monitored quarterly.

The automotive industry supply chain has a high degree of complexity; therefore, we believe in the benefits of a common approach and message where possible. Several global OEMs have collaborated on the Automotive Sustainability Guiding Principles (“Guiding Principles”) which contain certain expectations towards business ethics, working conditions, human rights, health and safety, environmental leadership and supply chain due diligence for suppliers at all tiers. We expect suppliers to uphold these standards and cascade them throughout their supply chain.
